A straight answer — whether a 2026 install is still realistic for your yard, and the date the last slots book by.
Two very different projects. Pick the one that's yours.
The part that isn't a pergola
This is the whole difference between a structure you sit under and one you actually use. Tap below.
These are local projects, completed by our team of experts. The motorized louvers open and close from a control integrated directly into one of the posts. No remotes to keep track of or lose.
What it's actually like
Every build includes
Our base models are far from basic. Every pergola leaves the shop with a motorized louvered roof, lighting integrated directly into the frame, and premium outdoor audio powered by Sonance (Sonos' outdoor line).
Then add what the way you live requires
Heaters are the one to argue for — they're why a pergola in Fargo is a nine-month room instead of a four-month one.
What it costs
Most companies make you sit through an appointment to find out. Here's the number — and everything on this page is already in it.
Our standard sizes · $100 / sq ft
Patio not on the list?
Built to your exact footprint at $120 / sq ft.
Real numbers, not a teaser — but still an estimate until we've stood in your yard. Footings and anchoring, drawings, the permit and the install crew are all in the rate — and every roof is motorized, not an upgrade. What gets quoted on top: privacy walls and screens, heaters, upgraded Saber Series lighting, Breeo fire features and X Series furniture, and a TV mount with power.
Building a patio for a business? Commercial spans, railings and occupancy change the engineering, so those are quoted per project — see the commercial section.
What happens next
Nobody commits to a structure this size off a brochure. We measure your space, then send back a 3D design of your pergola on your patio — your house, your siding color, your sightlines. Free, no deposit, yours either way.
Footings have to go in before the ground freezes. Book the visit and we'll tell you straight which side of that line you're on — including if the answer is spring.

Our work
Every photo below is a local install. No AI renderings, no manufacturer stock. These are the real deal.

Two things nobody else here can say
INTEGRATED LED LIGHTING
We are your local Jellyfish LED lighting dealer, which gives our team access to a wide variety of LED lighting systems. The lighting is all controlled from a very user friendly app on your mobile device.
Powder coat & screen detail
Most pergolas sold in this market arrive on a truck in pieces, cut to a catalog size in another state. Ours are fabricated by MetalWerks, a Fargo metal shop we work with directly — so the size is whatever your patio actually is, the color is whatever you pick, and a change is a drive across town instead of a six-week wait on a freight truck.
Built different
This isn't the kit from the box store, and it isn't priced like one. It's a one-off — drawn for your patio, cut and welded in Fargo, powder-coated in the color you picked, with custom-engineered louvers that shed rain and carry our winters. Made in America isn't a sticker here. It's the address.

PRIVACY WALLS · DILWORTH
The one nobody talks about
New neighborhood, houses fifteen feet apart, no mature trees for a decade — and dinner outside feels like dinner with an audience. Louvered privacy walls fix the sightline that bothers you and keep the light and the breeze.
Lakes country
Second base in Nevis — so Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids, Walker and Brainerd are normal jobs for us, not exceptions with a mileage minimum attached. Most Fargo outfits price that drive as a penalty. We keep a shop out there.

For bars, restaurants & event patios
People here drive across town for a patio worth sitting on — there aren't many. A pergola makes yours one of them, and puts the money into the property instead of out the door on umbrellas you replace every few years.
Concept rendering
A pergola has one job here — give you more of those nights, and better ones. More usable evenings, and people who stay for another round instead of moving inside.
Commercial spans, railings, egress and occupancy all change the engineering, so there's no square-foot number that would be honest here. We measure, work out the seat count you'd gain, and quote the project.
Everything in the residential build carries over — motorized louvered roof, fan beams with puck lighting, JellyFish permanent LED, Sonance audio. Heaters are the ones that pay for themselves fastest on a patio.
Every commercial pergola comes with a sponsored opening night — ask us how that works.

Three questions so we show up already knowing what you're picturing — then we measure, design it, and price it.
We render three designs a week, in-house. When the week's three are spoken for, you're on next week's list — that's real capacity, not a countdown gimmick.
Straight answers
Depends on the day you sign and what's already in the yard. If there's good concrete or pavers there, the job is mostly fabrication and a one- or two-day install. If we're starting from grass, footings have to go in before the ground turns — and that's the part the calendar controls, not us.
Signed to installed is running 6–8 weeks right now. If footings need to go in, October 15 is the last day to sign for a 2026 install — if your concrete, pavers or deck are already down, we can sign later than that. Book the design visit and we'll tell you honestly which side of that line you're on, including if the answer is spring.
Because of what's in it. A motorized louvered roof, fan beams with puck lighting, JellyFish permanent LED and Sonance audio are all standard here — at most companies those are four separate upgrade lines on a quote that started lower.
Compare the whole number, not the starting number. And if what you actually want is a simple shade structure, tell us on the call — we'd rather point you somewhere honest than sell you something you didn't need.
In almost every case, yes. A pergola is a structure anchored to the ground, not flat work like a paver patio, so the city wants to see it — and there are setback rules about how close it can sit to your property lines. Moorhead is the same idea on the Minnesota side.
We prepare the drawings and submit the permit as part of the job. It's the step homeowners most often get wrong when they buy a kit online.
It's the reason it's 6000-series aluminum under an architectural powder coat, and the reason it's engineered here instead of cut to a catalog size in a warmer state. We'll walk you through the exact ratings — and the structural warranty — on paper at your design visit.
Aluminum also doesn't rot, warp, or need staining every other spring. There's nothing to take down in October and nothing to re-canvas in three years — which is most of why people stop considering cedar or a canopy once they've owned one.
Yes, and it's not an afterthought — we have a second base in Nevis. Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids, Walker and Brainerd are normal jobs for us, not exceptions with a minimum attached. Say so on the form and we'll line the visit up with a day we're already up there.
Per project, not per square foot. Commercial spans are longer, railings and egress have to be engineered, and occupancy load changes what the structure has to carry — a square-foot number would be a guess dressed up as a quote.
What we do instead: measure the patio, work out the seats you'd actually gain, and put that against the build cost so you can see the payback in seasons rather than guessing. The patio math above is the same calculation we run, with your numbers in it.
Yes — that's a normal commercial job, and it's usually where the pergola makes the biggest difference, because a rooftop is the first place people leave when the weather turns. The structural attachment gets engineered against the existing building, so the drawings step is longer than a backyard.
Bring us the patio and we'll tell you what it can carry before anybody spends money on design.
Completely fine, and worth starting now anyway. Spring books up over the winter and the design is free whenever you take it. Get measured, get the rendering, sit on the number through the winter, and pick your install week before the calendar fills.
